There is something I want to mention. To download, use a Mac that is compatible with the version of macOS you are downloading. Last edited: Apr 17, Jamesbond said:. Like I tried on my Mac mini Server running Mavericks. I tried repeatedly and could only get the small file and not the full installer. Genius bar? Is there a number to call? This morning I checked my applications folder and the game I downloaded was there as a very little partially downloaded file.

When I went the App Store to and hit the "check for unfinished downloads" from the menu it told me again "All files have been downloaded.

Use the Purchases page to download again". I went to the Purchases page and gave it another shot and this time I didn't even get the error. It just wouldn't do anything. It simply says "error" in read next to the "install" button as it usually does.

The file did go away after I went to the Purchases tab and tried to download it. That was the first time I had seen the file on my computer even partially. Don't know if this helps, but I figured I'd update just in case.

I have no firewall in place, no virus protection software. I'm not using any 3rd party apps in my system. I'm at a loss. I've been in touch with Mac App Store Support for the past 2 weeks with still no resolution.

Feb 18, AM. I may also add that such issue could be caused by firewall rules. In my case there was restriction to download files over 1 Gb and AppStore app was not able to upgrade Xcode to the next version it was 1. Feb 19, AM. Can you not remove the Firewall restriction I guess you'll be aware of the link below but if not, follow the instructions once firewall has been removed.
