I recommend exhausting all other options before signing up for a 24 month contract. This is the worst Internet service I have ever had in my life. We just moved out in he area and this is all there was till the week after we signed up and found out that we could have fiber optics. I agree with every one else. Michanel how do you sleep at night knowing you are ripping people off of there hard earn money.
You ill me, people like you are usually called rats. We are very disappointed it this service. There is nobody up at 3 am to 8am that would be able to benifit from the great service you say you have.
I have lawyer friends that would gladly love to take you down. We want out and we are not paying you any cancellation fees. What does a joke if like this internet bs even mean. The internet from them is bad compare to dsl or cable, but they tell you that up front. You obviously have no concept of what a satellite is.
Not all of the Champions are like this, just be careful when dealing with them as some are less than helpful. I could even say that some of them may actually drive away customers who are only looking for some decent customer support I have butted heads with them before. We have been fortunate in that we have had fairly good service with only minor drawbacks: 1 their data use monitor needs work, a lot of work. Ironically, the application queries the Exede site for the actual data use, … go figure.
My advice, use it for your spam mail and sign up for a Google Mail account, … much more robust and best of all, it is free.
Currently our household is undergoing a financial overhaul due to a minor tragedy and we are looking to pair down some of our expenses, … issue 2 and current pricing plans have me leaning away from Exede.
I will give them a month or two for them to get their new satellite up and running before making a final decision. I could not agree more. Last 3 months thay have been burning me for my 18g. Telling me it is my fault for using it in 5 to 10m. Wait,…… what? The only thing keeping me in is liberty pass. Or I would be out. I am sure many of these reviews are legit but there is something fishy about a bunch of them, like it was one angry person or competitor posting again and again under different names.

They sign up for stuff they know nothing about and than complain about it. Excede is upfront about thier contract. They are not upfront about their contract. The only thing I signed was the installation paper from the local installer.
Phone has went out 6 times in 5 days and speeds are terrible not even close to the advertised speed except at 4 a. Even then I tried watching a movie with not success. I was streaming HD movies at between mbps with my old provider. I wish would have never had them install this junk.
Phone service has gotten terrible at my house lately and my other internet was a mobile hotspot. Thats why I was looking for a new isp. I have more important things to do than call them every day to tell me they are working on it and nothing ever gets fixed.

I had the service for two months and it would give me. I have Att on my cell and went with sprint for a portable wifi and went up to 4megs ave. Service went down a lot too and for service in the area. The worst company I have ever been in contact with. The internet it terrible, I have had problems the day I got the internet installed.
Trying to cancel and they are telling me I am responsible to climb my roof and retrieve equipment off my dish!!! What a joke. Worst Internet service I ever had. Got it and was told it would run everything I needed it for, tv, tablets…after first 3 days ran out of Internet.
Spending over a year using our phones and tablets as mobile Hotspot for everything I finally cancelled. Girl told me in a month I would get billed the fee for early termination, when in fact later that day they charged me both that and the extra month. I want to be part of that class action suit.
They tell you one thing and do another. We gave it a good solid effort too. Hell a Mobile jetpack from your cell phone provider wold be better than this absolutely absurd provider and their ridiculous demands. I pay I remote into customers computers daily, no problem.
The month I had issues connecting it was my own router that was the issue. Went out and bought a new linksys router for around 50 bucks and was up and running in seconds of setup. It slowed a tiny bit but not enough for me to buy more data. Big deal. Sucks to be you I guess huh? Not the only one who likes them. I have never posted comments regarding service that I have received from a provider.
I always figured that for every bad service that I received, I was likely given better service than I deserved elsewhere. However, when it comes to Excede, I felt that, by posting my experiences with them, maybe I could prevent someone else from having to endure the same. This company Excede is the worst that I have ever dealt with. Their speeds are so slow that it is virtually not usable. The customer service is terrible. They have prepared various excuses for when you call that are meant to blame anyone, including you as the customer, or the weather, or all users in your area cumulatively, etc.
They have not once ever sent a tech to my location to check their initial install, nor have they tried to eliminate any problems or improve the situation. I have made them acutely aware that the very day my contract expires, they better have a tech be there to recover their equipment. If they do not, that equipment will be treated precisely as it deserves — as garbage. I would recommend, as strongly as I possibly can, to avoid this company — even if it meant doing without internet.

The rep put me on hold and 1 hour and 30 minutes later never came back on the line. I complained on their Facebook page and requested a call back from corporate so I could discuss us amicably parting ways and they simply responded that they would provide me a month of free service.
I paid for service on Aug 8th as I do every month and have yet to have internet service. I was there three of those times, which cost me money bc they only service my area on Thursdays and I have to take off work to be there. I had my mom go one of those times when they were supposed to be there between and they never showed up.
And as I was having dinner with my wife they decided to show up. Proceeded to do the work anyway. Tore the old post out of the ground. Made a mess in my yard. Left foam from the previous hole. I would never do business with this company again and regret that I signed up to begin with. If they are sending a service rep from 11 hours away to service my account it is costing them a lot of money. After that, a lot of different problems take place.
Speed its slower than the offer, internet drops and does not work. However, it is impossible to use the same dish for both services. Also, my community does not allow a second dish. This service is the worse I have ever purchased. Extremely slow even when on liberty plan. They did not live up to the contract by delivering enough speed for basic internet search. I agree with the customers that are unhappy with Excede.
If their service is so great, why lock you into a two year contract? All companies have something like this. My husband signed us up thinking it was the only choice. Companies like this do take advantage of the consumer. I am complaining to the Better Business Bureau and would encourage more people to do so. Excede charges high rates and provides low quality service. It is not the only choice as I have found out. You can use your cell phone service like Verizon and get a hotspot. We are going to do this because Excede is just not working for us.
Have been without internet for seven days. Much longer than usual. Slow internet speed from the start. No service if it rains, or the wind blows. This could be a book, but I will try and keep it in a nut shell. We live in a rural area and options for internet are minimal. Two years ago we were forced into trying a satellite based internet and chose Excede. In 2 years we were able to download one movie, which took several hours, and our 12 Mbps was spent.
Spent the next 1. I finally get down to the last month and call and tell them I want to cancel service because it was inadequate. They told me that they needed the modem, cables and the little box up on the dish that they put up so I would have an equipment charge.
I told them they were welcome to come get it because they put it on the second story. How convenient! Begin 60 years old getting on my roof is not wise, I have to dispose of their trash and repair the holes in my roof. Looks like I have to hire someone to do their work because I have already been robbed by them over the last 2 years. Moral of the story, if you have any other option try them instead of Excede.
I agreed to use this service because I moved to a very rural area and had no other options for decent internet. I was okay with paying a little extra per month, since it was better than nothing. However, every time there was an issue with payment, or any issue at all, the customer service was horrible.
The most recent issue was with paying a late payment online. So, I re-entered my payment information and it still gave me that same message. I waited a little while to see if maybe it went through after all. I asked why they allowed the second payment to go through if the first one worked and they said there was nothing they could do.
They refused to give me my extra money back and no am having issues with my bank regarding fraud so I can cancel the charges. They were not interested in satisfying my problems. They were only happy to take as much money as they could from me and not worry if I was happy or not. Needless to say, I will be terminating my account with them immediately and would definitely not recommend.
I was an exceed customer for five years always paid on time. A few months ago I cancelled the service due to financial problems, I was paid up owed nothing I was sent box to return equipment, my 71 year old husband climbed on top of the house to retrieve the piece off disc took modem wires everything concerning excede boxed it and mailed it.
Now this is a lie and if they can do this to an elderly couple what will they do to you. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Exact same speeds, exact same horrible fuzzy picture, no difference at all. Cannot use this internet for Sling TV at all. It simply does not work. Save the aggravation and just pay for cable. Exede is the absolute worst option out there is on the market. I got a bundle with direct tv and excede internet when I moved to my rental house on 8 acres. Direct tv could not support service at this property so I canceled excede internet.

We also have an issue with direct tv for throwing my bank account around to third party people with out my permission. All we wanted was internet lol , An instead its a night mare. Im half tempted to put a law suit on their asses. I have had the service for just over 2 months. I have already had them back out 3 times and Thursday will be the 4th. I get white flashing light on modem and have to reboot several times a day. Tier 1 service is a joke and just wants you to reboot. Worst service I have ever had. I will wind up paying cancellation fee soon.

We just became customers a week ago and this is the worst internet service ever. We upgraded from the sorry We are disappointed everyday and will make sure we put the word out about this scandalous internet service. After three calls and NO service for a month, one week of which we were out of state, we cancelled.
The icing on the cake is that they tried to charge my bank account the cancellation fee they think they are owed. We paid by debit card over the phone for then installation and never agreed to have automatic debits taken and never agreed to have them keep our credit card information on file.
Never received a copy of the contract either. This company had terrible products and service for my family and I. We had the service about a year ago. Best move we ever made was to leave them. No problem. Had to reschedule. They show up at Now this problem occurs with subcontractor, not necessarily Exede. But I reported this to Exede because who they hire reflects on them. They hook up a modem, said, okay it works, but this modem is for someone else, so we have to go pick up your modem.
They show back up at almost that night. All hooked up — and I think we are moving forward. I make arrangements for my daughter to be at my house. I said okay. I call her cell — of course, no voice mail set up. I call Exede saying it is my time, I have to leave my house, and can wait no longer. Customer service rep says make-up time was for I tell her there is an emergency, I have to leave, and I do not consider morning.
I have wasted much time waiting for this particular subcontractor. I want someone new. Gentleman calls me to say he is running late. At around p. Turns out something was wrong with my dish. All fixed. Figured we are good to go. I profusely thanked him, and said Exede is truly attempting to compensate for all I have been through. Now I hit the roof. I call billing. Customer service says this was a mistake and would credit my bank account — in about 7 days.
So now Exede has use of my money for 7 days — which was an error on their part. My month service contract cannot come up quick enough. I will blast this company publicly for every infraction I receive from now on. I pay for the service — I should get decent service. And I still have to reconnect every few minutes while I am online. I only stayed with their service for couple of months , it was very slow and costumer service was not the best. Bad business , worse people.

Also they cut off my service after 10 days when I tried to cancel even when I asked for a refund and was denied. My family has gone through a lot, I have lost my house, car and almost lost my daughter because of a child custody case.
I had to terminate my services with Viasat because I have lost everything. The only you could say was oh well. Viasat told me when I called and explained what was going on I was told not to worry about anything, just send the equipment back.
I just lost everything. I called customer service and was told corporate said that was not a valid reason to terminate my contract. I hope Viasat is happy for taking food away from my family. So, you are complaining that they did exactly what they said they would do in the contract…….
Got viasat on the 28th of Feb. Terminated Mar 5th Or none at all. Viasat trying to charge early termination fee. I will never pay this. I have contacted my bank to dispute any charges made to my account, by Viasat Exede or Bluestar, or whatever they call themselves today.
Also filed a complaint with Better Business, in Denver Co. These people are crazy. I am going through something similar. I was promised a certain quality and was never told about the Data Cap. I need internet in order to work and the service was unacceptable. I have cancelled and they told me they would submit a complaint to waive the fees and now I see the charged me anyway. My next step will be to contact my bank.

As I have something that totally stinks. It was good until my 21 yr old moved back in with me, but she plays games on her ps4, and if I am on anything sometimes I can be on even 1 thing and she lags, and hollers at me to get off, but I digress.

In my experience in my area the 50 will run at about 65 to 70 mpbs and the will run at about So with the 50 you get more than you pay for.
No, I do not work for them. But i do believe they have great service…. I have friends that think the same. I stream full HD movies and tv shows every day. Works great. No problem at all. Now I am fixen to see how the home phone goes. I live in an area where satellite is the only option.
I have been a subscriber for well over two years. During that time I have never gotten anywhere near the speeds 25 mps download speeds that they speak of in their advertising. My average is 4 to 6. At night around 8 — 11, it is 2 mps. I have had a new modem, new wiring brought to the house. I have had the satellite adjusted and with no improvement. The only reason I am given is traffic on the satellite. It is misleading advertising to say up to 25 mps when the actuality is no where near it.
Tonight I was told the average on the entire network was 3 mps. So it appears to me that Exede does not have the satellite capacity to handle its customers with respectable speeds. They just reel you in with a high number and then the reality is far less. The tech will electronically sign your signature to a two year contract without ever notifying you that there is or was a contract. This leaves you to pay for 24 months of cancelation fees weather you sign a contract or not.
I have satellite internet service with this company,presently known as Viasat, but was formerly Wildblue, then Exede, through my Electric Cooperative.
I have been with them for many years and have experienced internet better than I was able to get with dialup. I have 12F plan which is a freedom plan where I purchase 12 gigs of data per month and when I go over my speed now is reduced but not totally made unusable. I am still able to surf the web, watch YouTube videos even when I am in breach of my allotment by a significant amount.
This better service only started happening a couple of months ago. I have not upgraded to an unlimited plan or received the new modem that Viasat offers with built in WiFi. I am pleased really. My speed from a test I just ran was 5. This is from speedtest. Sometimes it pays to slow down, and not bite too quickly especially when the sales people are really pushy and offering discounts to get you to sign up.
But competition is good so we will see how it all shakes out. We ran out of 40g of data within a week of use. The other issue I have is that I use a Google Wifi router which allows me to measure data usage and my data measure was at 20g when Exede was telling me I was at 40g. The helpdesk is useless trying to argue this point. Hope this helps in decision making. I guess I need to interject. At the same time if there is a technical issue that work order goes right back to that local retailer.
For that I apologize. You will get a much better value for the dollar you spend. We believe in supporting local business and went to a local tech store that was advertising high-speed internet in our rural area. Please do not get service from this company. They are so unprofessional and if you call customer service to complain about the quality of the internet, they threaten you with astronomical fees in the event you try to cancel.
There service is terrible. My service goes in and out all day and they refused to send someone out. I just cancelled my service. We just signed up with Viastat and are extremely disappointed with the service and the install.
I installed satellite dishes for about a year and this was the worst install I have ever seen. Of course the tech is a third party contractor. To save time and money he ran the cable all the way across my roof about 60 or 70 feet and screwed the cable clamps to the shingles. I instead of through the attic or under my porch like professional installers do. Then he runs it across the ceiling of my porch and down the wall looks horrible.
Then drills a hole into dining room, instead of mounting a cable outlet he runs three feet of cable out and leaves it hanging out my wall and put the rubber cap on the whole. This is what you do when you come through the Attic not into a living area.
I have to call a roofing company out to give me an estimate on the damage of my shingles my roof is only 3 years old. I am very disappointed. Our speed regularly drops below 1 mbps, we call to inquire, and they have all kinds of creative excuses to try to make it our fault.
I am looking for a decent satellite provider. I understand that I will not get the fastest service with satellite, but I just need one that can handle at least p streaming with 2 or 3 devices at a time. The only two that are available to me are Hughsnet and Viasat. I currently have Hughsnet, and am not satisfied.
My current download speed with a throttled connection is 0. Would I have a better experience with Viasat, or should I stay away? Nothing was connected other than the extender that night. A hard rain will knock my service out until it ceases. On the other hand, My son has Hughes Net and apparently, the speeds are even worse and cost is actually more. Until something else comes in, we that are in the rural areas are stuck with satellite internet and Viasat is the lesser evil out of the two…lol.
Had Exede for 3 years. Upload has never been over 1. Had several costly tech visits to try and improve it, but no improvement. I subscribed and bought the dish mostly to upload moderate size photos mb to my photo sharing group. It takes several minutes per photo. A bogus company. Very strange! Now of course the plans are going to unlimited and such….. I am content with the service. If dialup is your only alternative, go with Viasat, learn a bit of data management, read the help articles they offer on their website and, if need be, upgrade to a larger plan once you know what you need.
Absolutely awful service. Have been without internet for almost 3 weeks and the service tech contracted with them has failed to show up for three service calls. There is no supervisor I can talk to, I have lodged complaints that are supposed to be responded to in 24 hrs with no success.
I have three businesses that rely on the internet to operate, and with no income it is not looking good. I live in the country and the speeds were never as high as they said they would be. A really heave storm will knock it out occasionally. Also, if snow or ice builds up on the dish that will knock it out…… It was explained to me like this…..
Hope this helps. I have never in all of my years experienced service like this. First of all days after order this ridiculous service, my husband was charged 95 bucks that we were unaware of. Next, they told us that 12gb were the highest internet service they had but that information was not true! I spoke to the supervisor for Viasat in the customer service department and they were so rude and hard to understand.
Worst service EVER!! We got Exceed now Viastat in March of First month was ok then no internet, very sporadic, reset the modem, would work for a little while. They said the equipment was fine they could see it and everything was working fine. We called the day our time reset and they still tried to say it was because our data package was the lowest.
We spoke with a customer rep that actuall agreed to sen a tech. The tech came out and found the modem was bad. Service worked fine for a couple of months. Then speed became an issue upload speeds of 0. I saved the techs phone number he checked said everything showed working fine. He said it could be the router so I bought a new router, no change.
He came out tested modem and router they tested fine. He changed the modem and he used his router and his computer equipment tested fine still extremely slow internet. He called Viastat they would not talk to him, their service guy about it without a work order. We called and after a 1 hour conversation, we cancelled the service. The customer rep would not send a tech, or provide a work order, would not let let us speak with a supervisor.
Tried to sell us the higher data package, stated that was the problem. That is all they do try to sell you a higher priced package. Then you have to send the equipment back, which meant climbing on my steep roof to get the end piece of the satellite. Mailing back ASAP. The satellite does not care what your zip code is, why double price certain rural areas, bronze is now dollars a month for me, i am priced completely out of internet service. There is nothing else here either.
Its really awful what these companies get away with. The worst costermer help. The worst internet. Can never get help. They are rude. Im very unhappy. It is the worst internet. The custermer service sucks. They can not find you account. Do not there internet. This is by far the worst internet I have ever had. You cant even open your email! They say that peak hours are between 6 to 10 pm and after that you should get better speed, but you only get good speed between 3AM to AM.
So, I have to stay up really late or wake up really early just to be online. But I rather pay that than have this internet for another month! Otherwise, any other provider is better than this! From day 1 my picture quality and speeds were almost nothing even though my speed tests read good.
Called 7 times only to get the same process of restarting the modem and rechecking speeds. Multiple times I got a weather outage excuse when there was no weather whatsoever in my area.
